In 1969 51 Rutland Square, a six story brick bow-front in the South End, had been vacant for four years after a fire had destroyed the upper floors; nothing was salvageable from the original interior. It was renovated into 4 apartment units. In 2007 the building was developed again into 2 triplex units.
